Jina completed her doctoral studies in Curriculum and Instruction at Boston College (BC) in the United States. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Education at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. She is a former middle school English teacher in Korea and was an intern with the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), where she provided administrative and technical support for the Section for Teacher Education. During her doctoral studies at BC, she conducted several research projects in the area of teaching, teacher learning, and teacher education and taught two courses about teacher inquiry in the graduate-level teacher education program. Her research interests include teacher education curriculum, social context of teaching and teacher education, teacher learning, practitioner inquiry, and educational reform. She is interested in conducting further research in those areas through international and comparative studies using qualitative and mixed-method research designs.
