  • Jina completed her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College (BC) in the US and obtained B.A. and M.A. in Education from Ewha Womans University in Korea. Prior to joining NIE, Jina worked as teaching fellow in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at BC, teaching inquiry seminars at the graduate-level teacher education program. Before her doctoral training, Jina taught English at a rural middle school in Jeonbuk, Korea and was an intern in the Section for Teacher Education at the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) headquarter in Paris, France. Her research interest primarily focuses on supporting teachers’ enactment of innovative teaching practices and professional learning in an education system ruled by national curriculum and high-stakes exams. She is interested in conducting further research in those areas locally and internationally, using qualitative research approaches.
