    Introduction

    Huichao earned her Ph.D. in Special Education at the University of Oregon, where she worked closely with Dr. Jane Squires and Dr. Diane Bricker. Her research in Singapore primarily focuses on early detection of developmental disabilities and delays, identification of effective strategies to support diverse learners in early childhood classrooms, and evaluating the effectiveness of early childhood intervention practices and programs. Before starting a career in academia, Huichao worked as a licensed early intervention/early childhood special education professional in Oregon, U.S. and as a special educator in China for 10 years.
