This study is part of Japan Innovative Schools Network 2030 (ISN2030) project supported by OECD and funded by Japan Ministry of Education. The overall goal of ISN2030 is to build evidence from the field with respect to defining 21st century competencies through the exploration of different education models, pedagogies, assessment and teaching training models. The network connects schools in Japan in the following clusters (Fukui, Fukushima, Hiroshima, Wakayama and Kosen) to the other countries (China, Estonia, France, Germany, Malaysia, Phillipines, Turkey, Singapore, USA) that aspire to: (i) foster global collaboration in the field of both research and school practices (ii) explore innovating curricula (both schools curricular and extra-curricular activities and a willingness to share innovative curriculum and lessons and learn from one other.
