Challenges to Teaching Moral Education to Adolescents

Contemporary developments in society, in schools, and in the lives of adolescents present challenges to moral education. We focus on teachers' roles in education, on how they try to support and influence the (moral) identity development of adolescents. We invited scholars who are doing research on moral and social development and on teachers' moral endeavor. The concrete topics are moral competence in holistic education, ethical leadership of teachers in ICT, Chinese teachers in moral and civic education, and the hidden curriculum of moral and citizenship education. Together they present core elements of teaching moral development in contemporary global world.
