  • The Student Services Centre (SSC) is nestled at the centre of the NIE campus grounds; just before the NIE Library. Located within the U.iD NIE Student Hub, SSC is a one-stop service centre that caters to the administrative needs and general enquiries of students and alumni.

    NIE Student Services Centre will be temporarily closed on the following date and time:

    Nursing mothers who need to use the nursing room on the day of SSC closure may approach IT & Infra Services Hub (opposite SSC) to get an access card to enter the nursing room.

    Self-Service Corner

    ASC Marketing Pte Ltd is NIE's newly appointed vendor offering printing and photocopying services known as Print@NIE at NIE Library and Student Hub.

    There will be 3 workstation PCs and 5 printers (with photocopying and or printing functionalities inclusive of 2 with colour print-out) at the Self-Service Corner in NIE Student Hub, Level 1. These services are meant to provide students with the ease to print or photocopy documents. Students may refer to the self-help guide on the wall or contact ASC Marketing Pte Ltd's hotline number displayed on every machine at the Self-Service Corner.

    By making use of two innovative solutions - Pharos Print Management System and Cardiflex™ Cashless Payment, Print@NIE provides several improved features. These include:

    • Cloud-based printing via email-to-print and web-to-print
    • Improved printing security
    • Multifunctional printers for printing and photocopying
    • Flexible payment modes using Pharos account or CEPAS compliant cards
    • Easy management of personal printing accounts via web browsers

    These improvement enable users to enjoy the convenience of printing anywhere using any mobile devices (laptops, mobile phones, tablets, etc). Users no longer have to install printer drivers, download applications or queue at the self-service stations to process a print job. They can send print jobs via a web browser or email and collect the printouts from any printer located at the Library or Student Hub.

    Users can enjoy the ease of transaction by registering and using their student card or any CEPAS compliant card (eg. EZ-link card) as digital payment wallet. They can also manage their account balances and transactions on the Print@NIE portal.

    Self-Service Kiosks

    There are 4 workstation touch-screen PCs located outside Student Services Centre to provide students with the ease to access a one-stop information service such as checking of portal information, updating of student profile, accessing student online applications and printing of online services forms.

    Drop Boxes

    Drop-boxes are located outside SSC to enable students to drop their documents/forms for various purposes like:

    • Application for Interbank GIRO
    • Application for Tuition Grant
    • Cheque Deposit   
    • Submission of MCs

    We are pleased to announce the launch of Mobile QMS, an innovative feature on the NIE Mobile App.

    Developed by Academic Computing and Information Services (ACIS) in collaboration with Student Services Centre (SSC), Mobile QMS is a queuing app that allows staff and students to get an electronic queue ticket for services offered by IT & Infra Services Hub and SSC even before they arrive at the venue.

    By leveraging the power of mobile technology, Mobile QMS offers new features and provides an improved experience for our staff and students. Users can now:

    • Get an electronic queue ticket anytime and anywhere via the NIE Mobile App
    • Save waiting time by remotely queuing for services while continuing with other activities
    • View real-time queue information to keep track of their queue positions   
    • Receive notifications when their turn is near

    Reminder: AY2018/2019 Aug 18 Semester's Fees - All Higher Degree Programmes Students

    Students who have not paid the Aug 2018 semester fees are required to make immediate payment. A $25 penalty for late payment of fees has been imposed. Please login to your Student Portal at Click on Student Services > Online Services >> e-Invoices to view your e-Invoice and the outstanding amount.

    Please make payment at NIE Student Services Centre (SSC), Block 3B, Student Hub, Level 1 via NETS/Cheque/VISA/Master Card during the operating hours (Mon - Wed : 9 am to 5 pm, Thurs : 9 am to 6.30 pm & Fri : 9 am to 4.30 pm) or mail the cheque to : Finance Department, Admin Building, Level 2, National Institute of Education, 1 Nanyang Walk, S(637616). 

    Cheque should be crossed and made payable to "National Institute of Education''. Please write your full name, NRIC/FIN/Passport number, programme, contact number and the student bill reference number on the reverse of the cheque. Post-dated cheques are not acceptable.

    Extension of Operating Hours of NIE Student Services Centre (SSC)

    In view of term time, SSC will resume operating the extended hour (5 – 6.30 pm) on Thursday every week from 16 August 2018. This will enable students who have classes at NIE in the evenings to complete their student transactions at SSC after work.

    The operating hours of NIE Student Services Centre (SSC) during term time will therefore be as follows:

    Launch of 2 New Mobile App Services in NIE Mobile 

    Dear Students

    We are pleased to announce that wef Fri 18 May, you may make use of 2 mobile app services available in NIE Mobile.

    They are:

    • Certification Letter Request (CLR)
    • Online Verification of Educational Qualifications (OVEQ) 

    For public accessing the OVEQ, please follow these steps when using the app in your smart phone:

    • Click "e-services" icon > Alumni Matters > Online Verification of Educational Qualifications (OVEQ) 

    For students accessing the Cert Letter request, please follow these steps when using the app in your smart phone:  

    • After login, click "e-services" icon > Student Matters > Certification Letter of Request (CLR)

    The CLR mobile service enables students to apply for a certification letter on their study status anytime, anywhere using their smart phone. Students no longer have to rely on desktop only for such service. 

    The OVEQ mobile service serves to assist employers, institutions of higher learning or recruitment agencies who wish to verify claims by NIE graduates to educational or academic qualifications awarded by NIE or conferred by NTU. 

    We hope, with the introduction of these mobile services, more students will download the NIE Mobile app and make use of the e-services within the app. Increasingly, we will roll out more e-services to improve the customer experience. So stay tuned!

    NIE Student Services Centre (SSC) Goes Paperless

    With effect from 17 Nov 2017, NIE Student Services Centre (SSC) shall only provide e-receipts for all payment services rendered at SSC. The e-receipt will be sent to the payer’s email account.

    This is a small but important step in our efforts to improve processes and strengthen our administrative services. Not only do we save on on paper and related costs, we will also SAVE PAPER, SAVE TREES, SAVE THE WORLD!  

    Implementation of Cashless Payment at NIE Student Services Centre (SSC)

    In line with our nation’s initiative of going cashless, we regret that cash will not be accepted as a mode of payment for all transactions at SSC with effect from 15 Jan 2018.  Students can opt for any of the following cashless modes when making payment:

    2 Cheque/Cashier’s Order
    3 Credit Card (Mastercard & VISA) (subject to a minimum payment of $30)
    4 NETS FlashPay Card (Student Card)
