Mochammad Said Abdul Rachman Kapi Bursary

The Mochammad Said Abdul Rachman Kapi Bursary is meant to provide financial support to returning teachers and crossover student teachers enrolled in the degree programme.

Amount  &  Duration:

                     

1 award of up to $5,000 for the span of an academic year; or 2 awards of up to $2,500 each for one semester in an academic year. The award will be disbursed on semester basis.

 


   

Eligibility:

  Any NIE Malay Degree Student Teachers who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents, not receiving financial support from MOE. They are either Returning Teachers or Crossover Students enrolled in the degree programme.
 


   
Selection Criteria:   Applicants shall be considered based on their financial need, whose Gross Monthly Per Capita Income (PCI)  is not more than S$2,250 or Gross Monthly Household Income is not more than $9,000 at the point of application. The PCI and GHI shall be revised from time to time, following the University’s financial assistance guidelines. Applicants who do not meet the stipulated guidelines may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
 

Gross monthly Per Capita Income (PCI) is defined as gross monthly household income divided by the number of family members staying in the same household.

Gross income refers to amount before deduction of CPF. It includes allowances, overtime, commissions etc

Shortlisted applicants are expected to attend an interview by the Selection Committee on 13 July 2018.

 


   
 Concurrent Awards:   The award recipient may, subject to the approval of NIE, hold other award(s) concurrently.
